And, 5 MONTHS OLD!!
But first: Everyone, meet Ryan. He’s Mr. Awesome, Captain Adorable, and Lucie June’s boyfriend. It was love at first sight. He turned one last month, and does all sorts of fun things. He loves singing “where is pointer, here I am!”, reading stories, hide and seek, sour apples, bananas, avocado, and peanut butter toast. And most especially his mama and dada – he in fact says “dada-dadada-dada” all day long. He’s so cool. I love him and I love his mama, Jody. Will even manned the fort so Jody and I could have a Mama’s Date Night last night. After everyone went to bed for the night we went to a terrific restaurant (Girl and the Goat) and had seriously one of the best dinners I’ve had in a very long time. We ate the yummiest crazy sounding food, my favorite was the Lamb Tartar and the Butterscotch Budino (pudding) for dessert. YUM. I am gonna try to make the budino into a trifle I think. Sponge cake, salty cashews, toffee, butterscotch pudding, and fresh whipped cream…sounds amazing right? I am so glad she and Ryan could come visit us in Chicago and meet the babies.
Today is also Lucie’s and Teddy’s 5 Month Birthday! Yay! They definitely went through a little growth spurt over the last week. Their sleep patterns have been all off and they were demanding to eat ALL THE TIME. Last night finally we had a more normal night, Teddy only woke up 3x’s (instead of 5) and Lucie slept through, whew! Much needed. They must have bumped up the food supply and are working on putting the calories into growing finally. Growth spurts are tough on everyone. But our friends all agreed that the babies are visibly bigger than just a week or two ago. I bet they’re somewhere between 14-15 lbs at this point…I mean, check out Lucie’s chubby legs! Teddy is still all spidery arms and legs and absolutely no juice in the tush (his sister has all the juice). He has especially changed a lot in the last couple of weeks. He hasn’t been “Teddy Grumbles” in quite awhile, but he is so so so smiley these days. I love it! Oh and he loves standing and swings his arms way out wide like he’s flying. When Lucie stands, she like to gripe onto the hands of whoever is holding her up really tightly and flexes all her muscles. She is so strong! Oh and I’m going to work on a birthday dessert this week.
So, happy 5 months to the babies, next we’re looking forward to Uncle Ben coming to visit next week and then off to Colorado, hooray!
A few photos from today to remember the sweetness of 5 months old…
