In our 2.5 bedroom apartment. It was a squeeze! We were so lucky this past week to have super cool visitors who didn’t mind sharing space at all. My dad picked up my sister and her boys in Ohio (where they are new residents! Ohio is SO much closer than Texas – yay!) and they drove all together to spend the early part of the week with us here in Chicago. We were busy, busy, busy, cramming lots into just a few days.
We went to the zoo:
We went out to dinner, walks in the neighborhood, and played in the backyard:
These kids are seriously exhausting! They had a great time, someone was always laughing, someone else was always crying. Lucie is very VERY possessive of her rocking horse and purple cowgirl hat. Aiden is so independent and the other 3 have no problems with following him on one of his daring exploratory adventures. Becca and I are totally convinced that Lucie and Kaleb look like the twins in the bunch.
Also of note, Lucie picked up the glorious Hand-Foot-Mouth virus somewhere along the way and has given it to all 3 boys. It is a devil of a virus, and about zero fun. I have to say though, the case we have isn’t nearly so bad as some others. We’re giving 16 months a major kickoff here.
In happier news, last night Lucie said “Teddy” last night! It sounds very clearly like DTeddtty. If that makes any sense. She seems to have a lot of new words lately. Bah-Bah today was definitely “belly,” mah is mango. Teddy’s latest are ish “this,” shus “shoes,” guck “truck.”
Happy Birthday 32 to me 🙂 We’re having at my request fancy cheese and baguette and wine for dinner. We went to Whole Foods this morning where the cheese-guy and I took this decision very seriously. Thanks for all the messages and phone calls today, I loved talking to all of you. Cheers!
