Toddler Twins · Traveling with Twins

Labor Day

Becca beat me to the punch with the weekend post, it’s hard to be original when we do fun stuff together more often!  Which I like way better than having original stuff on the blog, I have to say.

So Labor Day, the drive last Thursday with Aunt Nancy went very well.  They started getting squirmy the last hour or so, but it wasn’t unbearable.  We spent the whole long weekend hanging with friends and family.  We went out to lunch with a few of my high school girlfriends and spent the whole day Friday at Kelley’s new house (which is SO gorgeous).  I neglected to take even one snapshot, dang-it!  Becca, Keith, and the boys drove in Saturday morning and all 4 toddlers spent the next few days stealing toys from each other and having “family meals.”  My dad hosted a little party on the holiday Monday and it was so wonderful to have everyone around.  Oh, and Lucie and Teddy got to play in a rainstorm, which they loooooved and we loved to watch.

Those are a little out of order, but lots of kisses for the babies from everyone.  Video produced by cousin Zachary.

Tuesday, after spending the morning with Aunt Nancy in Sewickley we started our drive west to my Grandparents in Ohio.  We met Becca and the boys and Uncle Ben there, and spent the day feeding the fish in their pond and playing with all the awesome toys GG had put together.  Lucie made it very clear from the start, the wagon was hers.

The drive home to Chicago was just me and the kids.  They did wonderfully.  Started out with a good long nap, and we made it almost 4 hrs before we made our first an only stop.  Lucie whined and cried a little, and Teddy literally didn’t complain for a second.  He get the prize for best road-tripper.  I just kept throwing stuff into the back for them, toys, water, books, snacks, etc.  I think I could be brave enough to try it again sometime!  Our return was happy, Dada and babies were very happy to see one another.  Now, it’s the weekend again, hooray!  Cheers all
